Has taught at the IUAV (Venice University Institute of Architecture) and has been a visiting teacher at Parsons School of Design, NY, USA and at the Italian section of the University of Florida in Vicenza.
Pertile works in the fields of architecture, design and town planning, with special attention to the aspects of environmental comfort and energy savings. His vision of the elements of design sees these as parts of the environment we live in, and not as objects being an end in themselves. Hence the design is considered a part of the urban space, just as are the buildings. There is special attention to specific solutions for each single project, with an eye to energy savings and environmental sustainability.
